Smoky Mushroom Gravy
SMOKY MUSHROOM GRAVY featuring our cold smoked mushroom broth!
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200g mushrooms (oyster or button mushrooms
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons cornflower
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of smoked mushroom broth (you can always add more!)
- 1/2 teaspoon beef stock powder or salt
- Pepper (optional)
Method:
1. Mince garlic cloves and roughly dice mushrooms. Heat oil in small pot and add garlic and mushrooms. Sauté until soft and golden.
2. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and mix cornstarch with remaining 1/2 cup of water to create a slurry. Pour into pot then add beef stock powder, smoked broth powder and a generous grind of pepper.
3. Stir until thickened and season with more salt and pepper if needed
Makes two cups of gravy
